Acupuncture involves the insertion of tiny, sterile needles into specific points in the body, along meridian/channels/mai.
Acupuncture treatments may include body work such as gua sha (IASTM) and/or cupping, Chinese herbal medicine, Western supplements, and dietary and lifestyle therapy.

Chinese herbal medicine has been practiced alongside of acupuncture since 200 BCE. Chinese herbalism differs from Western herbalism in that it is prescribed in many-herb formulas versus single-herb remedies. Chinese herbalism is also only legally practiced after passing a national board exam offered though the NCCAOM.
Chinese herbal medicine (as well as Western supplements) may be prescribed to help continue your treatment at home. Herbs and supplements are sold in office as well as through a digital patient fulfillment program.
Chinese herbal consultations are available and can be scheduled through contacting Nic directly.

Cupping and/or gua sha may be incorporated into your acupuncture treatment. Cupping is the placement of glass or silicone cups onto your body (usually on the back) to pull out pathogens and release tight muscles. Gua sha is best defined as “instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation.” It’s basically a micro deep tissue massage, and also helps to release pathogens and aid in deep relaxation.
Non-needle bodywork appointments with cupping and gua sha are available and can be scheduled through contacting Nic directly.
